As you can see, Path of Exile has no shame in looking a lot like the first two Diablos and isn’t trying to hide its sources of inspiration. While a system where any class can learn any skill heavily reminds one of the original Diablo, the gem system adds some nice depth to differentiate it from the competition. Another difference is the fact that it’s going to be free and entirely online. Path of Exile does not, however, classify itself as an MMORPG: “It is a competitive online action RPG, and has little in common with games that are typically given the MMORPG moniker.” they say.

There are currently 5 known classes you can choose from with a 6th to be revealed soon.

The graphical style looks like something all the Diablo 3 complainers would be wishing for and for an indie game the game sure looks good.
